Hello, world.
My friend is thinking of switching from console to PC! He doesn't know much about computers so he asked me to plan and build him one. I'm just trying to research everything and anything to ensure that I make a good decision. so I'm wondering if 2 gb of vram is a good option or should I try to get 4gb of vram such as a gtx 1050 ti, the post I look at say yes and no, so I figure I'd add to the confusion. He is planning on spending around $700 Canadian dollars or around $518 US. I'm planning on an FX 6300, Athlon x4 860K or even a used I5 if he's interested in that path.

I'd say the 6300 is pretty old. But for a lower budget I think the pentium is probably the best budget CPU. But if you want cores I'd recommend spending a little more...

He most likely will be playing a lot of six siege would this also do well?
fx 6300
gtx 1050 ti sc 4GB
8GB 1333
EVGA 500w or Thermaltake 600tr
GIGABYTE GA-78LMT
Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO or CRYORIG H7
Thanks for the list! I do like the sound of higher core performance but I also like the sound of six cores. There's a lot of people saying a lot of stuff about the fx, some say it's the best budget CPU and others say it's showing its age. I'll probably go with something like your list though. Thanks a ton

I'd say the 6300 is pretty old. But for a lower budget I think the pentium is probably the best budget CPU. But if you want cores I'd recommend spending a little more for something like the fx 8300 or 8320. But if you go the amd route you will need ddr3 ram (no different than ddr4) and a different mobo. I'd also recommend getting a bigger psu if you go amd.
