Helping out a neighbor (driver issues)

Hey everyone,

My neighbor recently mentioned that they were having trouble with their Toshiba Satellite A105-S4284 laptop not being able to get online after upgrading to Windows 10 (Home, 32-bit). I told them I'd be happy to take a look and see what was going on.

I take a look in device manager and this is what I see.

I feel like I'm taking crazy pills while attempting to update the drivers on the network cards. Two times, the wired network card started working properly. And one other time, the wireless card was all of a sudden working and joined my WiFi network. But after something starts working, once the computer is rebooted Device Manager once again shows an error on the devices.

The devices in Device Manager that have an exclamation point show the following:

  • - Intel PRO/100 VE Network Connection - "This device cannot find enough free resources that it can use. (Code 12)"
    - Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection - "This device cannot start. (Code 10)"
Anything that can help point me in the right direction would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Good thought. I just tried hooking up my phone via USB to see if it would connect as tethered device but that failed as well. I'm betting it also fails due to the resource errors that are showing up on a bunch of devices.
