henchmen question

I'm in Chapter 2 now, and I've noticed that in the journal entries for the
henchmen's stories, it mentions something about having to travel enough with
them in the past for them to continue their stories. What does this mean,
exactly? Do I have to keep them with me in order to get the rest of the
story, or is it still just a matter of leveling up?

Thanks,
John

You can get all of the henchmen quests by temporarily joining with each.
You don't have to take them anywhere but you do have to pay to hire them.
Add each in turn to your party every couple of levels or so and continue the
conversations to get their full stories and associated quests. Repeat in
later chapters.
I think (but could be wrong) that if you don't get the conversations in
early chapters you can't do the extensions in later chapters.

That's correct. My first time through I was loyal to my henchman - I was a
Paladin with Tomi as my rogue. All I did was his stuff ... but near the end
I wanted a cleric and took Linu along for a while, and found out about her
story ... next time through I rotated regularly 😉 Even this last time
while soloing I stopped in to catch the stories - and the XP!

It's just a matter of leveling up.

Ok, thanks. I did all the quests in Chapter 1, so I guess it's just a matter
of leveling, like KC said. The whole thing about having to spend some time
with them scared me! :) But I figured no one uses them all equally, I like
to stick with Daelan.

lol - yes having to spend time alone with a bard could freak anybody out.
Fortunately you can have the necessary conversations in the local tavern
with lots of people around. 🙂
