For several years now I've been trying to find a computer case that has built-in air filtration. I'm just wondering if anybody thinks it would be a good ideal in general to have air filter computer cases. Because I have yet to find one. I was thinking if a corporation that currently makes air filters would make 120mm or 140mm HEPA filters. That you could actually mount like you would cooling fans. Would this be a Good ideal? and would you use it in your build?

It would restrict airflow to the point where it wouldnt be feasible.
You would either have to give up on airflow resulting in very poor thermal performance, or invest in some seriously high pressure fans (which are in turn very loud).

A simple, regular cleaning is about all you can do beyond regular mesh case filters.

Well I live in agricultural community and I have a commercial organic farm next door to my house. So it gets extremely dusty. I'll dust one day and the next it look like I'v not dusted for a month. I'm currently using furnace filters on the front of all my computer cases. But I need to cut them down to size and it's a pain to install. I do understand the concept that using filters reduces CFM. But I would prefer my computer running slightly hotter because all the dust I think is going to cause more damage than a little extra heat. Considering that the dust in the summer actually stop the radiator from cooling properly because it's gets full of dust. Which is why I started using air filters.

Synphul I'm actually glad to know that other people have actually built enclosures over their cases. Because I'm thinking about using a Honeywell air purifier and putting it under my house and cutting two holes in the floor one for an air intake and the other for exhaust. Because one of the problems I'm dealing with is my room stays extremely hot. So I was hoping I could reduce room temperature. By either experimenting with a whole house Liquid cooling system. Which I was going to tie in to my 'hot water heaters' 'heat exchange' or I was going use ductwork to transfer the heat into a crawl space.

I also agree with Gam3r01 air purifiers are extremely noisy because of the fans. I actually have one in my bedroom now and it's lounder than my air conditioner. I purchased it to help protect my computer. But I think it would be more quiet under the house.

My only concern about using a air purifier is the high volume of CFM that it's going to produce. I'm actually worried that that the high-volume of air flow is going to turn the fans in my case and possibly damaged them. You guys think that would be a concern?
