here's my build .. what should i do next ?

hello
i am looking for some good graphic gaming on full HD
i have
CPU:core I7 3770
GPU: Gigabyte GTX 680
Ram: 4gb 1333 (don't worry i already ordered corsair 16gb 2400 MHz)
MoBo:Gigabyte Z77x-ud3h
HDD:WD 1TB (ustd ordered samsung evo 850 250gb)
PSU: X-calibre 600w 80 plus (weird brand)
so i was offered two things (used but like new)
1st : corsair H80 cooler but it had problems such as noisy pump ans one of the fans is dead
it was for 50$
2nd thermaltake toughpower grand 750w 80 plus gold for 105$
what should i do
i was thinking about returning the cooler and getting the PSU
but then i thought about it
and i wont need more than 600w
but i'm not sure about mine if it was real or not
i will return the cooler for sure and might get this
i'm guessing its a radiator with a block ,is it ?

since your CPU is locked, no need for a new cooler, but that PSU is SUCH A JUNK ONE. even the thermaltake one is total bullshit.
you can get this one, and bump your PSU reliability a few tiers (from tier 5 to like tier 2):

thermaltake toughpower grand 750w is a good option. The CPU cooler looks good enough. No fans included. but you can buy two 120 or 140 mm fans easily and fit them to it.

That mobo however, supports only upto 1600MHZ without OC. the 2400MHZ will need to be OCed to get the full 2400 MHZ speed of the RAM. Otherwise the board will limit the frequency of the RAM to 1600MHZ that it supports natively and may be working at 1600MHZ on normal .

now, OP, the price of that PSU is NOT high end. high end PSUs cost over 400USD, convert that to AUD, and its going to get expensive.

Well, I am not familiar with X-caliber units. I am however familiar with Thermaltek though. It is not that bad of a PSU as per the review in Overclockers clun.

It is a little bit on the boarder of comfirt zone in ripple & noise levels. But not dangerously or something.

Regarding the XMP profile, you will need to enable it from bios. and that board (I had read in some blogs like http://forum.corsair.com/forums/showthread.php?p=653913) has issues after enabling XMP profile as well.

So would not count on an easy go on that.

he can just update the Bios, and it should fix it...

davidarad02, just so that you know. RAM will not be listed as showing 2.4GHz. It will be shown as 1200mhz for a 2400MHZ RAM.
This is how it works.

DDR3-2400 is a memory module rated for a transfer rate of 2400 megabits per second on each IO pin. Data on the IO pin is exchanged on both the rising edge and the falling edge of the DRAM IO bus reference clock. Thus, a module rated for DDR3-2400 has an IO bus frequency of 1200Mhz, not 2400Mhz. The measure of IO pin transfer rate is in transfers per second, not cycles per second, so a DDR transfer rate of 2400MT/s has a bus frequency of 1200Mhz. The same holds true for all of the DDR, DDR2, and DDR3.

OP Can flash and upgrade the bios and still he will need to go to the Bios settings to enable XMP profile. But since this board had been showing issues such as I mentioned earlier, I would not completely count on a smooth run. But yes he can do that.

for gaming its all the same
but the thermaltake i was offered is cheap
because it's sold for 230$ new
and i can get it for 105$ and it's like new with all accessories
how would i know if my PSU is bad ?
it preforms just fine
so it's like what is the difference between
a high-end 750w
and a low end 750w psu
is it safety ?
one more thing
do you think i need a new GPU

It is a Tier based listing of PSUs. Tier 1 & 2 are always preferred but if budget is a restrain, you can go with Tier 3. Tier 4 & 5 are to be avoided at all cost.

The GTX680 is enough for mid - high settings gaming.

Yes. You can take the Thermaltek option you have. As I mentioned, it is a decent PSU.
