Here's my gaming PC -- where's my biggest bottle neck for the Oculus Rift DK2?

Hi all!

I have an Oculus Rift DK2 on order that will (hopefully) be shipping out this month. I understand that getting most of the demos and driver-hacks running requires a significant amount of computing power because you have to get two 1080p displays running at 60FPS, and I want to make sure I'm ready. Can anyone provide any insight on my setup and tell me what hardware needs to be upgraded the most to make sure I can use my DK2 properly? Any suggestions on hardware I can get at a relatively low cost to be ready?

AMD Phenom II X4 965 (Deneb) 3.4GHz
8GB DDR3 RAM
AMD Radeon HD 7700 (1GB VRAM)

Thanks so much!

Pretty sure the DK2 is a single 1080p display... 960x1080p per eye.

Ram should be fine.

I'd recommend a R9 280x (280 is fine if you don't mind a small performance loss for less cash) to run 1080p reliably for the Oculus rift.
For safety, an R9 290 would be good. Best AMD option would be the R9 290x, but likely a bit overkill.

If you like Nvidia, no less than the GTX 770. GTX 780 would be a better option, and GTX 780 Ti if you really like overkill/future proofing and budget isn't an issue.

I'd upgrade the CPU to avoid any significant bottlenecks.
What motherboard are you using? Would you be willing to upgrade it?

Suggestions for CPU are-
(Intel, non-K variants are great as they are usually cheaper, but they can't OC, just so you know. If you aren't a big overclocker go with those.)
i5 4670k
i5 4690k

(AMD)
Fx 8350
Best pricing option - Fx 6350 / Fx 6300 (whichever is cheaper for you.)

If you want specific suggestions (For example, http://pcpartpicker.com/part/sapphire-video-card-100363l ) just ask, and if you have any questions or concerns I'll try and address them.

This was exactly the answer I was looking for! Very much appreciate the advice, Cryobrun101.

No problem. Again, if you have any questions/concerns I'll try and address them. Enjoy the DK2... Hoping to get my hands on one once I get a new system up and running.
