I have this ancient motherboard from Hewlett packard about 8 years old now and I'm planning to buy a GTX 560. I've been anxious thinking that the graphics card with that much power would fry this old motherboard. I don't know if I should buy another motherboard because I literally can't see any reliable socket 775 motherboards available in my place. Would keeping these components be safe?

it shouldn't make a difference to the motherboard. the gtx560 will be getting most of its power from the 6 pin power connectors connected to the power supply. there is no reason the pcie lane shouldn't work as designed either.

I haven't put a single graphics card in this motherboard since the first time it was bought. Do you think the pcie x16 is still alive? I want to test but I can't because I don't have any gpu and I can't borrow from anyone.
