alright so im a new pc gamer and i need some help. i need a new gaming pc that is about 700-800 dollars. i will be building it myself and i need their to be a good gpu and a lot of hard drive space if possible.

You could go either way. I don't really see the need for a better motherboard unless you wanna overclock and get a "k" version of the i5.

^I'd go with an h77 chipset motherboard (b75 can't even have overclocked ram faster than 1333MHz), and for sure, one that's not Micro ATX.

If you aren't going small form factor, mATX is just a pain.

Other than that, looks good.

Actually according to newegg the motherboard i picked out for him does support 1600 mhz and 2100 mhz overclock.

Here's the thing about the power supply - I am very cautious about the power supplies I pick. Having more wattage than you need doesn't hurt anybody, but I've seen what happens when you have the bare minimum or too few watts - it causes system instability and can lead to power failures. For a 7870 you don't want to take any chances.

B75 is useless on a gaming rig. It's meant for business systems where you don't need the overclocked RAM or the extra USB ports and things of that nature. It's better to go with H77.

Unless he is overclocking paying the extra money is pointless when it can be put towards other stuff. And corsair is the best PSU brand there (same as seasonic) and im am very confident that 500w will be more than enough for just about any 7000 series card

an i3+7950 would also be a good choice if hes ok with a dual core with hyperthreading and save a few bucks otherwise an i5-3470+7870 is also pretty good option.
its whether a better cpu or better gpu.

I totally agree. The only games that would run better on the i5 7870 are bf3, planet side 2, and a few other massive multiplayer games that tax the cpu.
