Hey guys so i want to know what exactly is bottleneck? Example : a cpu can bottleneck the game or gpu ... How so? Like the game will slow down? Or stuttering or low fps

take something like a pentium G4560

it is perfectly able to play a lot of games at ~60 fps, but thats it

if you had a 144hz monitor and a gtx 1080 ti

the system would still struggle at ~60 fps because that is all the pentium is capable of

it is the bottleneck, the 1080 ti is more than capable of reaching 144 fps but you will never see those fps because the pentium cannot keep up



this is why it is super important to look at cpu benchmarks when you are deciding on what gpu pairings will be balanced


you simply cannot pair a weak cpu with a strong gpu or vice versa and expect it to perform well
