So I decided I've decided to build my first gaming computer and I'm pretty excited. I have a budget of around $800 ish and for the past week I've been doing a lot of research and review reading to find something that will last and play some decent games like Battlefield 3 and Skyrim -like games. I think the setup that I'm looking at getting is somewhat ok but I was hoping that I might some experts on here to that would be kind enough to see if everything looks good and maybe find someone with the same setup to tell me how it will run? Ill add a link on here to show you guys everything but in case it doesn't work ill list everything below. Also any opinions on using SSD as the boot drive? I heard its extremely fast and pretty worth it. Sorry if I sound very noobish about all this. This is my first build.

you could change the 660ti to a 7950. but get a ssd they are worth it. you will regret not getting one. if you don't need windows save $90.

I don't recommend that at all to be honest.

There really isn't anything in there that goes "Wow, nice"

For $800 you could build your own thats much better frankly.

I really can't stress this enough. Don't buy that system. You're literally purchasing an immediately dated system with an underpowered graphics card and a medicore PSU.

Yes it would. Being that I worked 14 hours today, and I have to be at work in 7 hours I don't have time to put a build together for you. But someone should be along shortly to help.

Just PLEASE do not purchase this build. Wait 24-48 hours and see what others suggest.

Hey dude, thanks fro checking back up. Kinda sorta lol. I've rounded up a bunch of info from all these other forums and this is the build i came up with, I've checked with another guy and he said it was ok. But the more people that give criticism the better. So here's the new build, my budget was $800-900 but i hit $1100 which is ok, it'll just take me a couple more weeks than planned to get the money.

I'd recommend going with an Intel processor. An i5-3570k would be what I'd recommend but if you want to go a bit cheaper, you can grab an i5-2500k if you plan on overclocking. Your graphics card looks good. For your PSU, I doubt you need 800 watts unless you're planning on adding another graphics card to your PC later. If not, I'd go with a 620W if you plan on overclocking or a 500W if you don't.

Yeah i was thinking incase I wanna upgrade later on I'd be safe powerwise, and I am planning on overclocking. And wouldn't the AMD FX 6300 3.5GHz (4.1GHz Turbo) be faster than the i5-3570k? Ive heard some good things about the AMD.

Wow... Big difference... Ok in that case I'll go with the i5-3570k. But what kind of motherboard should i get? Will the graphics card I'm getting go good with this CPU? Or will it be the bottleneck of my system?

@jonjonjon I wanted to buy an SSD but after looking at countless reviews all over different sites i wanna say 40% of peoples SSD's fail in a year, and I was a little worried about that. Another thing, is 550W enough for that setup? Otherwise that setup looks pretty legit lol

yea 550 is plenty. if you click the first pcpartpicker link it tells you "Estimated Wattage: 341W" so you got plenty to spare.

also ssd's have come a long way. there is no reason to worry about them. ocz mad some garbage drives which made ssd's look bad. you can look at the article below where they talk about samsungs tlc nand. the kingston has MLC nand so if you used 10GB's a day it would take you 30 years to use all the writes.

Wow that is pretty awesome! Thanks! Last question early you said I can change it to the 7950, if I wanted to could you post a link to which one to get on newegg?? Just incase. The 660ti looks sick enough.
