Hey guys! - Need graphics card help!

■ Hey all, my first time on the forums, seems like a lovely place to surf around. Anyways I'm here wondering about what GPU should I get? My budget rounds up to around from $220-280. This is my first build, and I'm looking foward to building my dream computer.

Also, I'm wondering if I should use the stock cooler that comes with my CPU? I'm not looking to overclocking.

But yeah, I'm not sure if everything is compatible or not which is why I'm here. Like I said this is my first build, quite nervous about this. It looks pretty easy from what I've heard!

I just need a good recommended GPU.

Looks good, the only thing I would recommend is to buy a higher tier PSU. The corsair CX series uses cheaper components.
However the PSU is fine and I have many friends who use them it's up to you and your budget. Look at XFX and Seasonic units.

For around 280 dollars you can look around for a GTX 970, but on Newegg they're around 330 dollars. Also look for cheaper r9 290's.

There is also the r9 380 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127878&cm_re=r9_380-_-14-127-878-_-Product
For 230 dollars.
There is also the gtx 960 however it comes with 2gb's of vram which isn't enough. The 4gb version isn't worth it In my opinion.
Also the r9 380 wins just by a little with close power draw to the 960.

However if you can I would highly recommend a GTX 970 or r9 290/390 for 1080p. Will easily max most games at 1080p.

I'm not sure which is better to be honest, but this will most likely be my GPU, hopefully..

Also to note, the r9 380x is due to release quite soon. Which should perform better than the 380 and quite closer to the 390 while using the tonga architecture. (which is what the r9 380 uses now, it's more efficient than other AMD architecture at that range)

It should be priced in between the 380 and 390.
Which is about 329-229. Which should be closer to your max 280 dollars budget. Or else no one would buy it.
However r9 380 fits lower in your budget and is still a good performer at 1080p.
