First off a small backstory.

I updated BIOS, failed to reboot, update was successful, boot manager of windows was corrupted. I have a SSD i just bought, and a 2 tb HDD i used to have my windows os installed. I have a OEM version of windows 8.1 disc. I booted the windows disc, failed to repair, etc. When I tried to put the OS onto my 2tb HDD, it said "Windows cannot be installed to this disk. The selected disk is of the GPT partition style."
I proceeded to install windows to the SSD, which is fine by me. I did however delete and format the HDD, so I lost all my files. I'm wondering what does that mean? GPT Partition style.. I received that message once on my brand new SSD but all I did was delete the partitions and reformat. I read it has to do with UEFI, but I have UEFI so not sure what's the issue. Thanks.
