Hey so I have a 2tb HDD and would like to have a backup of an operating system on a second ssd or something, how would I do that? just install an ssd and load up windows on that?

Are you going to install the os on the hdd? It will be a lot faster on the ssd, you can either install the ssd and install the operating system through the optical drive or install it through a flash drive later.
