Question Hey just added 2 sticks of ram problem

Hey as title says i just added 2 sticks of ram on top of my other 2 for a total of 4 sticks. Upon adding the other 2 my computer would not post it would turn on for maybe 5-10 seconds then turn right back off then try and turn back on again and repeat. so, i unplugged the 2 ram modules and i was met with a screen that said overclocking failed for some reason. I then tried to put only 1 in for a total of 3 sticks and was just met with a black screen with a an underscore. I will say i bought this ram off ebay used should be in working condition i just needed some older ram that was the exact same as my ram same clock speed etc. ADATA XPG 16GB (4x4GB) PC3-14900 DDR3 1866 GAMING MEMORY AX3U1866W4G10-BGV- CL10 | eBay for refference this is the ram i bought but its x2 4gb sticks any suggestions on how to fix this boys before i return it.

Check RAM compatibility for your mobo.

I ran into problems trying this myself with some Corsair DDR3. I did manage to get my system stable by lower the speed and increasing the DRAM voltage.
