Hey my brothers pc with asrock m3a770de as motherboard audio was working just fine then after format it stoped working

i dowloaded the drivers for audio of the motherboard 2 times i check at device manager no yellow triangle i check at the sound at control panel nothing no sound nor from the headphones pluged in nor from the speakers (monitor and pc are plugged via VGA) if i press the sound it shows me digital sound s/pdif and witha black box as an icon. the crazy is that sound was working just fine and stoped after the format even i re downloaded the drivers.. so any help?

In Sound devices selcet the one that isnt digital as your default sound and test that.

already done that it only recognize the HDMI output as sound and its plugged with a vga
