Hfs plus disk read and write in win xp

Hfs plus disk read and write in win xp
i have my passport WD 500 gb hard disk HFS + - it can be read in win xp
where as
i have my passport WD 2 tb hard disk HFS Plus - it cant be read in win xp it is detected but cant read

Considering the drive is 2TB, is it using MBR or GPT for the partition table. If it's using GPT, Windows XP will have issues with the drive. What software are you using to allow it to read HFS+ anyway?
