HGST NAS hdd replacement

I bought an hgst deskstar nas hdd, i have no clue what nas is but it seems like its for network storage(i thought the drive was just a normal pc hdd), i was intending to use it to replace 2nd hdd on my pc, can i do this? If so how, because its not letting me create a new volume out of the drive.
