So I bought a refurbished HGST Ultrastar 7K4000 for my system which is as follows.
Intel i7-6700k
MSI H170A Gaming Pro
16gb DDR4-2133 RAM
ASUS ROG GTX 1080
Now I looked up the compatibles and didn't see windows 10 yet I did see someone using this for steam which was my intention. Anyway to figure out how to get this drive to work? It's not showing up anywhere.

Solution
1) verify by doing THIS:
a) shut down PC
b) swap both SATA power and data cables from a known WORKING drive (don't unhook from motherboard)

2) open DISK MANAGEMENT to see if the drive shows up (shouldn't if BIOS doesn't show the drive)

So long as your bios recognizes the drive, you'll have no issues.
I happen to have 2 4tb versions of that exact drive and I run Win10. The drives give me no issues, other than when run in raid 0, the raid array breaks just as easy as with any other drive in raid 0................ I've busted the raid array on 2 separate occasions and will never, given the choice, run raid 0 ever again.

Got all your purchase info? If the purchase was recent(namely has the payment completely posted?), you can use the money angle as leverage(one reason for always using a credit card to buy online stuff, it gives you leverage).
That being said, do you have another system that you can use to verify whether the drive is faulty?
