670 and i5 is what comes in question; you get that big gain from the i7 cpu, so i5 is cheaper option that will give you same performance as the i7 and with a it overclocked 670 you will get 680 performance. if you will OC then I suggest i5-2500K but if you won't then take the i5-3350P. Asus DCII cooler is efficient but so is MSI's version. Gigabyte's version of 670 and for a good prices.

The motherboard your packing there is very expensive. Thats the type of motherboard for 3-4 way SLI cards... And if that's the route you plan to take then I'd definitely go with the i7 3770k (with watercooling for max overclocking) and the zotac gtx 680

The reason I say the zotac gtx 680 is because of the heat-sink on it. Those types of heat-sinks keep the majority of the heat within the card rather than distribute it throughout your case... Keeps SLI heat issues to a minimum.

And if you do take the SLI route make sure you have a power supply to support it.

The Asus GTX 670 is the quietest of the 670s and runs very cool, almost as cool as the Zotac 670.

Asus has great customer service and warranties support in my opinion too.

You can read all about the cards here: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/geforce-gtx-670-test-review,3217-16.html

The i7 will only benefit in compute tasks such as encoding/rendering. The i5 is 100 dollars less and you can put that money towards another upgrade (now or in the future) such as SLI 670s.

The GTX 680 overall is a terrible purchase, 100 dollars more for very little price/performance, we're talking 4-6 frames I think it was, about 5% increase on the 680. So 25% more money for 5% gain is hardly a good purchase. The 670 will match performance with boost and an overclock.

Also consider this month the 700 series releases I believe too which will makes waiting a couple weeks a good idea.
