Hi core temps

Hi guys, I have an i7 4790k with a h110 cooler on it. I am fairly used to putting coolers on but for some reason i cannot get the temps i think i should be. My room is about 22 degrees Celsius and my cpu is overclocked to 4.7ghz. Before with my cooler i used to idle around 30 degrees and i moved my case quickly and the temps rose. i replaced my thermal compound and see my temps are at idle are around 40 degrees! i have had issues from day one with cooling my cpu; the stock cooler did not work well at all. do you think it is a cpu issue or cooler issue. i am 99% sure its not me as i have tried to replace the thermal about 100 times and have tried 2 different brands (arctic silver 5 and now icdiamond). im about to remove my oc but i dont think that will have much effect as i had it idling with the oc fine before.


Just rest my overclock and it had no effect. I may contact intel or corsair and see what happens. I cant really text either product though unless you guys know a way to?

What temps do you get on full load ???
Idle temps means close to nothing.
If you don't go over 72 degree on full load I would not worry.

i go over 80 degrees, spikes in the high 80s and if im running prime 95 after about 5 min i go over 95 degrees and i have to close the program out

Which version of Prime95? It makes a difference.

What is your ambient temperature?

if you read my description you would know my room temp is about 22 degrees. as for the version of prim 95 i cant remember what it is called but i over heat on them all regardless

i moved my case quickly and the temps rose.

The answer is in your question.

You accidentally created a water block / pump problem. Is the water block no longer seated securely? Is there a kinked tube? Loose connector? How's the RPM? All fans running?

That's where I would start to troubleshoot.

just stop commenting honestly or read the whole question. i have re applied the thermal paste and re attached the cooler. its wasting my time to re state my whole paragraph
