Please forgive my English, it is not my first language

I am in the process of building my first system from scratch and trying to do it with as few mistakes as possible.
Alot of money will be invested into it so I want to get it as perfect as possible.
I have settled on the AMD Athlon 64 4000+ chip
I will be ordering from ZipZoomFly.com
They have two such chips listed
One if the San Diego and the other is the Clawhammer

What is the difference between the two?
Is the Clawhammer worth the 34 extra dollars they are asking for it?

I am looking to order the parts tonight so a quick response would really be helpful.

And if anyone is interested I will list the rest of the system so the people here can critique it. I have heard from several people that this is the best forum to come to in reguards to computer hardware help.

Thanks in advance
Rudel

Splendid
I would be willing to pay more for the SanDiego core. It is newer, smaller, cooler, has a better memory controler, and a few other enhancements.
Get the San Diego.

Get the San Diego.

I forgot to mention, it is the Clawhammer chip that is 34 dollars more expensive.
If it makes any difference at all, I plan on using the system as both a heavy gaming machine and a work machine.
I run ALOT of spreadsheets in Excell and MS Access

Clawhammer is the older chip. It would be better to get the San Diego.

Sarebbe migliore ottenere San Diego.

hope that helps.

EDIT: took out japanese toms doesnt like it apearantly. All translation from Bablefish

as far as I know there is no bottleneck with sli

PS you could save me some trouble by telling us your native language.

EDIT: fixed spanish translation

Splendid
The 4000+ and the 7800GTX are well matched. SLI adds all the eye candy you could ask for.
Why did you come to the english THGC, rather than the german site?
Don't take that to mean we dont like it, because we are honored that you value our community so highly.

I live in Virginia now and I thought it would be easier to reference American websites and talk about products in USD and have people understand what I am talking about
Plus it lets me practice my English

I'd never guess english is your second language. I have 2 problems with your build though.
1) Asus is only good for Intel
2) Samsung CD/DVD drives are crap

EDIT: as a non american I know that its hard to find anything other than Abit, Asus or MSI so if Asus is all you can get go Abit LOL.

Asus is overpriced from the performance.
And if your samsung drive works good then keep it your lucky.

EDIT: it would help to see where your ordering from to recommend other Mobo's. Since were both not american I wont rub newegg prices in your face.

I thought 229 was reasonable and it has alot of expandibility if I ever wish to upgrade
Plus it is one of the few boards I found that run both cards at 16x

EDIT:
I do all of my odering from ZipZoomFly.com
Newegg.com charges tax in the state of Virginia

1 GFX card barely uses the bandwith of an 16x PCI-E slot. If your not going to OC then Asus is a great board. Asus is like honda they are reliable, but you always want that yamaha. (Sorry motorcycle refences is the best I could come up with).

EDIT: I know the translation cant be too accurate but its gotta be better than when I told my Icelandic friend I like curry and he got a totally different message.
