Hi guys! hope youre all doing well, as the title says, this is my first ever PC build, leaning more towards gaming and future proofing it (by that i mean should last me for atleast 4 years)

after looking around and my preferences this is a list ive come up with

PC Parts list: https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/ZPDzr7

I am still looking at other cases and so far ive come up with Corsair SPEC-ALPHA, Corsair 270R and the Phanteks P400.

Your opinions and alternate suggestions are welcome!

Thanks :)

At resolutions higher than 1080p, the 1600 is just a little behind the i7, but it will last much longer due to its higher thread count, and it also allows you to get more GPU power in there.
However, as I mentioned, given you only have a 60Hz monitor anything above a 1070, a 1080 at most will be pointless without a monitor upgrade.

Thanks to the stupid mining stuff the 1070 isn't viable as the price is horriblly inflated. This adds a 1080 for $50 which I picked a cheaper board to offset the increase

Tell me about it, such a bad time for people like me who are purchasing parts for the build lol

I am hoping to play minimum 1080 res, and perhaps 1440p depending on the monitor i purchase, which i have to take account into my build

I'd go with at least a 240GB SSD.
The 750 Evo is a good value choice here, and i've also included 16GB of RAM as well as an 802.11ac wireless adapter.
I suggest a 1440p 144hz monitor with this setup.
