Question Hi guys, new here my first post. So...I have a dilemma. I'm currently running an i5-6400 & 1060 6GB playing at 1080p on 144Hz monitor.. So...

Financially I have to stay at 1080p resolution on a 144Hz monitor for the next 15 - 18 months or so but will then I be making the jump to 1440p. So my question is what is the best CPU & GPU pairing I can buy in the next 3 months which will enable me to be able to play Ultra/High settings at 1080p on 144Hz monitor and still be 'future proof' at least for a year or two once I've made that jump to 1440p in say 18 months time. An example of my favourite games I mostly play are: Witcher 3, Skyrim, GTA V, Fallout 4, Dying Light, Ni No Kuni etc. I play also play FPS, Horrors, City builders, Strategy, Sports, etc but that's my favourite genre...I greatly appreciate any advice and help you can give me.
