hi , i have got a new usb 3.0 compatible motherboard and a wd 1 tb usb2.0 hard drive with power supply , kindly let me know if i can somehow convert this hard drive and get faster speed of usb3.0. ???

The only way to increase transfer rate is to buy a usb 3 enclosure ,transfer the 1tb to it but it will void your warranty on the external drive if its less than a year depending on mfg.

External usb drives are for storage and backup only not really made to be running 24/7 if your using them all the time you should be using an internal hard drive.

hi toughguy911, thanks for your reply ... correct me if i am wrong . i can use it as internal drive with help of a SATA connector cable and a SATA power supply . i have got both ....should i connect it?
another issue (after installing another hard drive) is at the time of boot it is shows issue with hard dive and requires selection of hard drive to boot from
