I applied a SIP service and they provided me a modem which uses an RJ45 patch cable..now on our central, we only have RJ11 ports for voice calls. we are using cisco router as a central. Question is: is it possible to just use an RJ45 - RJ11 patch cable? or i need to buy t1/e1 NIM for voice (which is not available here in our area)..thanks

Solution
You can't ask whatever company that gave you the modem how to hook it up? If the modem needs ethernet connection, you need to use an ethernet connection.
