But the ISP in our small town isn't much customer friendly ,
the person in charge of Fiber says blue and green don't have a difference at all
that green doesn't improve the connection a bit

but my own experience :

This is the new green APC patch cord that i use

And This is the old blue UPC one that was OEM :

My connection did improve a bit , like these figures :

where always above 100 milli-seconds for me ,

This is my current ping to 4.2.2.4 , (the infrastructure around UK ? )

However , the problem is the contractors that the ISP sent to our premises , i think used blue UPC connectors all the way , from inside this OTO :

All the way to this Splitter in our garage :

And to this FAT box on our neighbor's wall :

I think it's all green connectors , inside this one here :

So my question remains ,

the ISP guy in charge of Fiber is a smug
who tells me there is no difference whatsoever ,
he also tells me he doesn't like talking to me

Still should i try to find people to replace the Blue connectors with Green APC all the way ?
would it improve my connection even if it was a bit ?

thanks for your kind and helpful answers in advance .

Your testing method are likely flawed if you think you are getting different ping times with fiber using different types of ends.

The light itself does not take any less or more time to pass from your house to the ISP equipment.

This difference is related to how much light level you get. Fiber is pretty simple in this case. As long as you get above a certain DB level of light it will function. It does not work better or faster if you get more DB above the required minimum.

If there was some issue you would not see different ping times you would see packet loss.

It depends on what type of fiber ends the equipment is designed to use. You would think the ISP uses fiber that matches the equipment. But it all doesn't matter if the light levels are high.
