I had this happen before to a monitor. Try plugging it into other computers and devices to see if you can get an image to appear. My monitor would power on once in awhile but it wouldn't stay on for long. Turned out there was a blown capacitor inside the monitor. I popped it open and threw in a new capacitor and it works perfectly now. This was about 4 years ago now, it's still working just fine. Careful opening the case though I accidently broke a lot of the little pins around the monitor holding the screen in, now the case doesn't close properly so theres a gap in the bezel at the top of the screen...But it works haha
