Hi new to raiding need help please!

Hello, i am building a new rig, and i want to raid it.


for harddrives, im going to buy a 8 gig SSD, and 2 500 WD black 500gig, 7200 rpm, 32 cache harddrives.

for the SSD im going to put windows 7 home basic on, and I want to RAID 0 the 2 500 gigs.

mainly for gaming, is this a good selection?

Can't comment on the RAID0 set-up in regards to gaming, however I wanted to comment on your SSD selection. I'm nearly positive my Win7 64-bit Ultimate install was about 17GB, so I don't think it's going to fit on an 8GB SSD, unless Home Basic is significantly smaller in size, but you should just verify first...

Actually, the more I think about it; Home Basic is only sold in select markets (usually emerging countries, or used to fight piracy, etc). It's basically a stripped down version of Win 7. Perhaps it is less than 8GB, but I'd still check.
