wifi and range? would i need to buy a tablet that has 3/4g connectivity and if so would it work on a bench in a town park? thankyou

Depends on the WIFI you connect to. There are some publicly available that aren't secured with a password, and you should be able to connect to these. Many fast food outlets now offer wifi, and you should be able to connect to these.
