so I mainly play rainbow 6 armature pro attempting to get into the pro scene. as I said I have a Ryzen 3 2200g paired with an rx580 and 8gb of ram and I get about 45-70 frames I used to get 110 back when Vulkan first came out and I don't know if they did something to it but now I only get about 45-70 frames and it is sometimes unplayable. I've been told to upgrade my CPU because the Ryzen 3s aren't the best gaming CPUs and I would really really like to get something better what do yall suggest.

when I built this pc I had a very tight budget but now I'm in the 200 and below price range.

Ok, so DDR4-2400 CAS 16 (16-16-16-39) 1.2V. That's what you'd want to match or beat. The mobo runs both sticks at the same speed, so if you buy a faster stick, its going to run the same speed as your current one.

That said, Ryzen CPUs do benefit a fair amount from faster RAM (DDR4-3200 CAS 16 is the sweet spot on $/performance these days), so if you got a new 2c8GB kit, that would be slightly better. But that means this current stick needs a new home.

Please list full system specs like this

CPU
Ram (be specific)
Motherboard
Graphics card
Power supply (make and model)
Storage drives
Case
sorry first time asking about this kinda stuff

Ryzen 3 2200g
team group elite + ddr4 8.00 gb ram
X470 Master SLI/as and its by asr rock
RX 580
corsair CX450M
ssd 240 gb hard drive 1 tb
thermaltake.

Yeah, so we're looking at getting you to DDR4 (preferably DDR4-3200 or 3600) and a Ryzen 3600. I think to get both in your $200 budget, you'll need to reuse your existing 8GB stick of RAM.

What is the speed rating of the 8GB RAM stick you have? DDR4-????

ok, yea I don't know how to check my ram speed but I don't think it's very fast.

I talked to one of my good buddies and he also suggested getting another ram stick and he actually has the same one the other guy linked

Ok so that said what would you do if this was your computer I really want a new cpu I did a benchmark for rainbow six and my cpu workload was 100% with nothing open other than rainbow six Im really stuck between what I should get.

Your budget is your factor. Ideally, you're looking at a Ryzen 3600, which will cost you $175-$200 (depending on sales). 2x8GB DDR4-3200 costs....$55. 1x8GB costs $30.
to be honest, right now I think I'm going to just get the 2x8 GB of ram for right now because at the moment i can only afford one and the ram will hold me tilll i can get a new CPU. not to mention Christmas is coming up.
