Hi Techies,

I have an 8gb ballistix sport lt 3000 mhz ddr4 ram with an i59400f processor,a320m s2h v2 motherboard

is it possible to add another furry hyperx 16gb 2666mhz ddr4 ram with the existing Memory?

Will it cause any problem?
Can I operate with full 2666mhz?

It might work together, it might not. In any case, both modules will only be able to run at 2666mhz, the speed of the slowest DIMM.

And on that lower end board, I wouldn't get my hopes up that they will play nice together BUT since they'd only be running at 2666mhz your chances are much better than if they were different modules at higher speeds like 2933mhz or higher.

Your best option is always to buy one memory kit with all the memory included that you need, that way they have been tested together at the factory for compatibility. Even if you were adding another DIMM exactly like the one you have now, it would still be a roll of the dice as to whether they wanted to play nice together or not. At that speed though, you probably have a decent shot at it working.

well if it works it will run at 2666 mhz even though its 3000 mhz and 2666 mhz and i have a chance to get them working thats good news i hope

really shouldnt mix ram speeds better to just add 3600 cl 16 to either 2x16 or 4x8
DDR4 is super cheap these days
