Hello,
I am unable to install realtek Ac 97 sound card on my desktop computer when i install Windows Xp.It shows the device in Device manager with a yellow Exclamation maark .I installed the driver but still shows as yelllow exclamation mark .When i go to properties it sows Error Code 10 .

However when i install Windwos Vista the drivers for Realtek Ac 97 get installed automatically .i donot need to do anything.

It looks like your installing incompatible/old/wrong drivers on Win XP.

If you could locate which Realtek codec you have, we could help you locate the proper drivers.
You should be able to locate this information on your motherboard's product page.

yeah dont assume the drivers from the realtek site are going to work, go to the manufacturers site first and see if those drivers work.

un installl completely the old drivers first.
