Hid keyboard driver does not recognise keyboard

The hid keyboard driver of my desk top working on XP does not recognize keyboard At times it recognizes for a brief spell and shortly thereafter fails to recognize

Might want to reinstall driver

or boot safe mode and choose last known good config, or restore to when you did not have the problem (windows system restore)
