Hide IP - How it works?

Hello,

When i connected to the internet from dubai, i see i have a public ip addres assigned by my service provider.The ip location is showing as dubai.

Now, When i install HotSpot shield or proxpn like software, my public ip address changes to a US based address.

I want to know, how they change this address in my system? i mean in the registry or ?

Pretty much the same way your home router changes the IP from 192.168.x.x to the real one. In your case the traffic is going all the way to a router in the US before it is converted.
