To start with, the 2600K has ZERO advantage over the 2500K in regards to gaming.

That board down below is new on the market. That board is set up for Ivy Bridge and has the PCI-E 3.0 slots that Ivy Bridge (due out in April/May) will support not to mention it has the NF200 Bride allowing dual cards to run @ x16 & x16. That psu is manufactured by Enermax for LEPA and is top of the line. This build is set up to add another one of those vid cards later on for SLI.

Was looking at the new 80gold seasonic fully modular power supply looks really sexy for 150$on newegg i like the ssd and hard drive though i would get 2 1t hard drive and set up a raid 0 when your downloading movies and stuff it fill up fast! If your getting the I-7 you really wont need to overclock though the asus Mobo will make it easy i always recoment the amd phenom 2 955 black edition quadcore overclocks easy to 4.0 ghz cost 130$ and can be put into a mobo that will accept a 8 core bulldozer chip.. just a though aslo i dont know anything but bad things about powercolor and if you are crossfiring 3 gpus which i think is way overkill you are going to have some heat problems. i would say just crossfire 2 and spend 150$ on a nice case the Dragon case on newegg has a huge side vent fan that can be removed and you can put 8 120 mm fans in the side this would cool down your gpus a lot also with 2 you could put a cooler in the slot below the cards and cool it that way too. if you have a/c in your gaming area and aren't overclocking you shouldnt have any heat issues if you get good ventalation and at least 5 fans in your case hope this helped.

No A/C, and I am fine with out overclocking.
I am also starting to think that the 3xGPU is overkill, and thinking it makes sense to cut down to 2x. I'm not attached to really any parts at the moment, any alternative GPU setups that would be good?

Yeah get the seasonic 80gold 750watt its sli rdy and only like 170$ and the vid cards its your choice but i will not stress this enough GET THE 3 MONITORS FIRST your amazing graphics are meant to be seen right? why not look at them on the best quality monitor first so get 3 asus 24" 2ms response monitors or 3 27" though i think that 24" is optimal for gaming at the moment and 27 will stretch i am not positive on this. the video cards depends on budget but 250$ cards get the nvidia 560ti/ or hd 6950 for 350$ cards get the gtx 570 or hd 6970 2 of any of these cards should run everything on max but its your choice if i had your budget i would prob get 2 6970's as i hear that hd crossfires better then sli. Have fun man!

Save $100 by getting a 2500k instead of the 2600k, it's the same for gaming performance. You're good on RAM, you don't need more, nor will you until DDR4 comes out. Is modularity important to you in a PSU?

The power supply you were looking at won't work for 3x 6950. A 955 is underpowered by a factor of two for what OP is looking at doing, though Bulldozer (hopefully) will be sufficient.

ros: Got 2 in crossfire for 1920 x 1080

Don't ask me, check anandbench and that should explain all the pros of this card, like the fact you can max every game in todays market 50+ fps (Witcher 2 Ubersampling on + Ultra) everything else 60+ fps. Crysis ? pshh old. Metro? so last year... you're still stuck with suckish frames? well its time to upgrade to these

They're extremely silent, worked right off the bat, no problems at all. When they need to they can keep the gpu cool and quiet.

AMD CCC is actually quite nice, and drivers were easy to install, even coming from nvidia cards.

Cons: They don't have a backplate
They make you not want to come back to newegg, because face it, whats the point? when you have the best... well then what do you do?
only 6+1 VRMs (not even that big a deal, can overclock well even on stock volts)
The way their power plugs are positioned is awful for cable managment

no real gripes...

Other Thoughts: Performance beast, quite frankly you'll be spoilt by owning these. Playing Crysis Warhead the other day, lol what lag? Enthusiast with forced Super Sampling AA? no biggie

Witcher 2 with ubersampling on? hah Lowest frame rate was low 30s and mostly at 50s. If you know this setting then you should know thats dang near the best.

2gb vram means you can use all the AA you want. Slightly overkill for my res, but honestly if I go triple screen I will also go triple gpu.

Why wait for next gen? TSMC hasn't started production yet, who knows what sorts of trouble the next gen die shrink will bring? Instead of thinking of the future, why not act now?

you're still sitting there? still reading up with reviews and fps comparisons?

Buy it and forget about it. Infact, make sure to buy two atleast.

i realized that and thats why we went to 2 vid cards and 750w seasonic psu its badass and modular is the way to go no clutter in the case makes it so nice and clean imo. yes get the 2500 instead ive heard its a waste of 100$ everywhere as well

My advice is to hold off buying this system till the end of the year maybe near/during Black Friday. RAM prices are set to drop. I bought 4gb kingston ddr 1600mhz for $20 [$25 MIR] and they both worked out of the box. AMD will be releasing bulldozer and 7xxx graphic cards during Q4. I would see how things turn out. I doubt bulldozer can match up to sandy bridge but there may be price drops.

My suggestion:
i5-2500k
p67/z68 mobo with dual x8 MINIMUM
8GB DDR3 1600mhz RAM
1-2 Samsung Spinppoint F3
[Skip SSD/ if you really want get the Crucial m4 128gb]
case of choice
750+ Power supply from ANtex/Corsair/Seasonic [crossfire/sli]
I would probably get a 560 ti or 570 for now and wait for the new graphic cards

It's really up to you.

For cooling, I would stick with Noctua nh-c14/d14 they give the best performance out of the box. If you want, you can buy a Prolimatech Megalith, i believe, with 2 yate loon fans.

well you could take into consideration the new 7000 series and just a get a evga gtx 570 until you can cross fire 2 7000 the top 3 evga 570 models have the highest ratings on newegg must be doing something right
