mckingwizard,
Although your i5 650 is a 1st Generation Socket 1156 Core i, unlike the 7xx variants which are 45 nanometer processors, the 6xx variants are 32 nanometer processors that overlap with 2nd Generation Core i processors in terms of architecture.
What this means is that 45nm and 32nm have a different maximum recommended core voltage:
Core i 45nm = 1.400 Vcore
Core i 32nm = 1.350 Vcore
Since the Vcore you've noted is more compatible with memory voltage, I have to ask; did you read your BIOS correctly?
Also, are you running the latest BIOS?
jty0yt,
Adaptive voltage applies to 4th Generation processors. The i5 650 predates Adaptive voltage by 3 years. That selection does not exist in
mckingwizard's BIOS. He's most likely running a motherboard with a P55 Chipset.
