[SOLVED] High CPU Temps After Bios Update

Hello! I have been using a Ryzen 3800X processor in my PC since late September. When I first built my system, idle temperatures for my CPU were about 40-45°C, I thought that was a little high but I was told it wasn't and I don't have much experience with Ryzen so I believed what I was told. All has been fine since then, my maximum CPU temperature has rarely gone above 70°C until recently. I noticed my BIOS had an available update so I went ahead and did it. It must have reset some settings because my Idle CPU temps are now 50-60°C with a max load temperature of 80°C. I've tried a few different solutions such as changing my power plan to Ryzen Balanced Performance, increasing my fan power, etc, but nothing seems to bring my temps down. For those interested, voltages are 1-1.4v idle and 1.4v under load, and clock speeds are 3.5-4.5GHz idle and 4.5GHz under load. My PC specs are:

  • Ryzen 3800X
  • MSI 2070S
  • ASUS TUF X570 PLUS
  • Stock wraith cooler
  • G.SKILL Trident 2x8gb @ 3600MHz
  • Corsair RM750 PSU

Any assistance on this would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
