High CPU Temps

I've read that the Kaby Lake series run hot, but I feel like 80C is too hot for my preference. I have a 7700k with a H100i v2 cooler paired with it. I've tried aftermarket thermal paste, but it actually increased the temps... I've also replaced the radiator and pump, but that just put me back to square one.

My question is what are my options? Would a bigger radiator, like the Thermaltake 3.0 be a better option? Should I delid it? Would better cable management improve airflow (I have an In Win 303)?

Because there's no mounting holes for the front, and I'm just following the general notion that hot air rises.

Here's a alternative that I could do. The 6700k is on sale for 255 before tax. I could return the 7700k, and then buy the cheaper equally as good 6700k. BUT, I've had a bad experience with Skylake in the past. I accidentally bent the cpu somehow. I was using a H115i, but I only hand tighten the screws. So basically I'm scared of paying less for lower quality.

Is the manufacturing not the same between Skylake and Kaby Lake? Outside of the bad thermal interface that is?

I believe you however.

I also believe in receiving a quality product. A cpu that expensive should not be running that hot, in my opinion.

From what I hear you can drop up to 30c from a delid, though you'll void your warranty, or you can run the silicon lottery with the 6700k which doesn't appear to be AS hot.

There are a few UK sellers who sell pre-delidded 7700k's with some form of a warranty, it might be worth looking for those. Though if you are in a different country i'm sure someone must do something similar.
