I have 4 gb installed ram with 3.87 available. 325 gb free of 452 gb on HD. After windows 10 download I have had consistently high CPU and memory usage when using anything, including google chrome, playing games, whatever. I tried a clean boot, even went through and tried starting services 6 at a time, makes no difference. I uninstalled chrome and reinstalled a windows 10 64 bit version, makes no difference. My antivirus takes up a lot of memory, I tried turning it off, it makes no difference. I have tried so many things in the past week, I can't even remember. My windows updates are up to date. Desktop window manager, service host local system are both big hogs. Any suggestions?

I have finally fixed my computer! I am a 62 year old grandmother, windows 10 updated seamlessly on my grand kids computers, but not mine. That's just not fair!. Anyway, I have just enough comp knowledge to be dangerous. Anyway, after two weeks of digging, fixing admin accounts, creating new accounts, deleting accounts, fixing services, fixing problems with Micro Soft not recognizing my computer, endless restarts and shutdowns, driver updates, my computer is working just about as well as it was before the windows 10 update, at least for now. I will keep my fingers crossed. I think next time Microsoft has a major update like this they need to include a desktop how-to manual.

Hi, I am having the same problem now, would you please briefly describe what you did ? Or was it too much that it couldn't be written?
thank you
