High CPU usage

Hey guys,

My pc is running on windows 7, 32-bit with an intel core2 cpu 6300 @ 1.86 ghz.
So this is the problem:

On startup, my CPU usage is always at or greater than 50%. When I looked it up on taskmgr, the reason is hpwuschd2.exe, an HP application of some sort. After ending the process, another process came up with 50 CPU usage. This just keeps on repeating. It's like other processes are replacing the process with high CPU usage. I really don't know what's causing this, some of my friends said that its probably a virus. Now i can't run some software cause of this.

Any help would be appreciated,
Thanks!

i don't think it has got something to do with the hp software, but i'll uninstall it anyway, thanks for that.
i already ran a full scan a while ago, still no problem.
i'll post some pictures of what i'm talking about.

as you can see in that picture, hkcmd.exe is acting up. i'll try ending that process.

so there, explorer.exe suddenly spiked.
if i try ending that, i'm pretty sure it will happen again.
just with a different process.

thanks for responding sir.
i already tried that, but still nothing. i don't think the problem doesn't really lie on the programs that run on startup. even some usual programs like taskmgr.exe, taskhost.exe, explorer.exe, etc. will have high cpu usage whenever i terminate a program that has high cpu usage previously.

1) You have a ton of garbageware/plugins, delete them all
2) You might be having cpu performance issues, try setting the power settings to maximum performance

1, is done. though the problem still persists, it's either the taskmgr.exe itself having high cpu usage or explorer.exe.
2, could you please instruct me on how to do that, thanks.
