have a Toshiba Satellite E55-A5114 laptop. Have recently installed Windows 8.1. Device Manager shows 2 high def audio devices, one of which will not start. It is High Def Audio Dev VEN_8086 DEV_2807 SUBSYS_1179FA0B. I am not able to locate a driver. I uninstalled but it continually reinstalls with the same status. Any help would be appreciated.

I spoke too soon, my problem is not solved. The drivers that were suggested are Windows 10 drivers. I am, at this point, running Windows 8.1. I did try and install the recommended drivers anyway but no joy.
Any other suggestions? Thanks for your help.

I accidentally turned my controller off in the IRQ panel one time.

Instead of the Sound section, go to the "System Devices" section and Enable the High Definition Audio Controller (it will probably have an arrow pointing down next to it)
