High def video via vga

My video card has hdmi and vga output and my monitor supports either ... can i get high def output over either?

Monitor btw is a samsung 245t and video card is a nvidia gf 9800gt

Hi newcomer and welcome to the Tom's hardware forum.

Use the HDMI output, the VGA output isn't good if you have an HDMI.

Thanks. Couldn't get the HDMI working but it has a DVI and that works - picture is stunning to say the least. Thanks again.
