High dpi and lower sensitivity vs low dpi and high sensitivity

Right now I am running on a 2000dpi since I'm so used to it, either some games running below 10 sensitivy.

But some of my friends run their dpi at a much lower case like around 800-600 with their in game sensitivy high.

Is there a difference?

There's not really a noticeable difference. What I do is set my 5 DPI settings in a range from low to high, use the middle one as default, and set the in game sensitivity to where I want it. Then the on the fly DPI adjust on the mouse becomes something to compensate for turrets that swing too slow, or sniper scopes that are too twitchy.
