High DPI LCDs and Font Scaling.

LCD maker's should produce more high dpi desktop units. Laptop units already do 1600x1200 on 15" panels. I have only been able to find 1600x1200 on a few 19" desktop LCDs. They have the tech, there just is not a huge market for it yet. I imagine when font scaling for programs and websites gets perfected, higher dpi displays will be more prevalant. However, ubiquitous font scaling may not become standard until high dpi desktop units do so it is sort of a catch 22. On a side note, how many people get annoyed by lazy website programmers that define their font sizes by pixels?

As far as today's available LCDs go, I would love to be able to afford this one: http://www.iiyama.com/product2/AU4831D.HTM - That .2415 pixel pitch would be so clean. This monitor: http://www.planar.com/monitors/CT1905S.asp - seems to use that same panel. Does anyone know who makes that 19" 1600x1200 panel? It seems that both Hitachi and Samsung produce 1600x1200 19" panels but those specs are different than the iiyama and planar units. http://www.hitachi.co.jp/Div/mobara/catalog/skg-235-e.html

However, I can't find any finished units that seem to use that 19" 1600x1200 samsung panel. Maybe they are not available yet. Are there ANY 18" 1600x1200 desktop LCD units?
