So I am planning to build a pc with a 3600 and an rtx 2060 and have chosen an AsRock b450m Pro4. However to be future compatible I would like to go with a higher end card so when I come around to upgrade in around 3 years or so I will be comfortable putting stay a 3950x in there. So I picked a MSI B450m Mortar Carbon Max as it is more of a high end board that I would be comfortable putting a high end cpu in for today when I upgrade. However, there are some cheap B550m motherboards like the ASRock B550M-HDV.

These are the prices (at time of writing)
AsRock B450m Pro4:£75.35
MSI B450m Mortar Carbon Max:£95.37
ASRock B550M-HDV:£81.98

Although MSI and some other MB manufacturers kinda promised BIOS compatible with 4000 series Ryzen in b450/x470MBs, by nature of things it will be sketchy and loose some features comparing to even those chipsets and not support PCIe v4 etc.
Personally, for R9 3950 (in my plans also) I wouldn't trust b450/550 MBs, at best their VRM is at about 65% of x470/570 MBs. It would work but big ??? about reaching full performance and with no OC.

So should i just go with the b450 mortar and then get an x570 board later or just get the budget one since i am planning to upgrade. Should i just stick to the asrock pr04 b450 since it is cheaper. Although i think its worth getting he extra features since i will only be upgrading to 3rd gen for only like £20 i also found the b550m pro4 so im still confused on which one to buy
