Discussion High-End CPUs in 2024

What do you think would be the fastest CPUs fronting both the AMD and Intel lines by the end of next year? How would a Core i9-13900KS compare?

I know there is not a lot of information online and that mostly this would be guesswork, yet it would be cool to find out what the people here think!

No idea about AMD but anyone looking to purchase an unlocked 13 gen i9 for a gaming build is doing it wrong imo hence the reason I always recommend a locked i7 for those builds. The 13 gen cpu's are pushed to their limits out of the box and those i9's are heat producing power hogs that add little to gaming especially when factoring in the cost of cooling, board with decent VRM's and the cost of the cpu itself.

Whatever it is, it will be expensive and add very little to actual gaming enjoyment. It might be good for HEDT computing but installed costs are rising even more rapidly than the CPU alone so cost/benefit ratios will probably become even more skewed.

Just have to wait and see every year, always buy for your needs now instead of waiting if you need to upgrade. Do it based on need.

I"m sure in 10 years CPU's will be a lot better, but I"m not willing to wait 10 years lol
