I'm looking for a mousepad for my Logitech MX518 mouse (and for my notebook). Price is not a limit, but size is. For example Steelpad S&S (32cm x 27cm) is too large for my desk. I need the mousepad mostly on gaming.
My top three choices are the new fUnc sUrface 1030 MBA Limited Edition. It's one of the most expensive mousepads out there (almost 50 dollars) but it looks cool with its new aluminum base. The only problem with the fUnc is that it's kinda small although I don't think it's too small for me. The other two choices are Steelpad 4D and QPad Midsense. QPad is not familiar to me, but apparently it's one several tests.
I've also read many reviews on mousepads like Steelpad 4S, Icemat 2nd edition, Razer eXactmat, Ulti-mat and Xray Thunder 8. All of them have their strong points but I don't think they are as good as my top three. For example, Icemat isn't ideal for optical mice and it's noisy, and Ulti-mat is kinda ugly and not all that it's cracked up to be.
Recommendations? Remember, price is not an object, size is.
And yes, I know that I might consider using cheaper mousepads or my desk as a mousepad, or buying a mouse like MX1000. But I really want to buy a high-end mousepad, you know how it is. Currently, I own a six-year-old pre-optical-mice-era black Everglide Giganta mousepad, but it's kinda noisy with my current MX700 mouse, and it could be more slippery.
