Hello fellow people,

I have a problem with my PC not able to run certain games. My pc goes nuts ( heat goes up rapit and runs on MAX to keep up ). Games like Rust, planetside 2, Conan exiles, Frectured space and a few others are almost all a no-go for me. Meanwhile I am able to play High-end new games on MAX without real problems, games like World of Tanks, Star citzen, ARMA III, GTA V and more.

I know cooling is not a real problem since I have 5 case fans propperly set up, my drivers are always updated atleast once a month. My PC is not overclocked in anyway since I avoid it until the PC lacks behind. PC is very clean from the inside and termal-paste is still good.

My PC specs:
Power supply: CX750M,
DvD-burner SH-224FB,
850 EVO, 500 GB SSD
Memory: 32 GB DDR4-2400 Quad-Kit
Procesor: Core i5-6600K, 3,5 GHz (3,9 GHz Turbo Boost) 1151
Hard disk: Barracuda 7200.14, 1 TB
CPU-cooler: Hydro Series H90
Grafic card: STRIX-GTX980TI-DC3OC-6GD5
Case: Define R5 Black
Softwear: Windows 10 Pro
motherboard: MAXIMUS VIII HERO, socket 1151

I also use this monitor IIYAMA Corporation - ProLite X2783HSU, my PC is just an year old but I had this problem very quickly. I have send my PC 2 times, everytime I got it back saying nothing was wrong. They did replace my GPU last time.

If there are any futher questions, please ask.

When you say heat goes up rapidly, are you talking cpu temperature? Gpu temperature? System temp? Get a monitoring utility like HWInfo or HWMonitor and check so you have a better idea where the issue is.
For example, games you list might be particularly cpu intensive and if there's an issue with your cpu or your h90 cooler (pumps fail partially or completely pretty often) in some way etc. they might have a lot more problems than other games that rely on gpu more.

If not a hardware issue, it could be the drivers or the game itself. Some games are really just badly optimized and will give you a lot more issues than they should. Have you checked if others are having similar issues? Steam forums or publisher's game forums for these should tell you plenty if yes.

I know my temps, I use Afterburning. Normal idle temps are 20C, playing high end games bring it between 40-50. I do not see the cooling being the problem. It occurs on games that are less highend but my GPU takes it like its the newest game, going up in heat. Also the CPU goes up in useage and temps, still that doesn't explain why games like GTA-V behave normal. I checked if everything was fixed in place. No problem there.

Then it's likely the game itself. Some games are just poorly written and will ramp up your cpu or your gpu for seemingly no reason. CivV's endless turns come to mind, especially on large maps though it's an RTS and you wouldn't think it'd be too intensive on the hardware. Check game forums to see if others are having similar issues.
I suppose it could be something in your graphics settings too but that you'd have to tinker with yourself, see if anything makes a difference in how they run.
