high end pc low fps

i need help with my pc

Hey im new to this community sorry if i type wrong. Recently i built a new pc with 9700k asus strix oc edition 1080ti i dont know if it is worth overclocking my cpu or my gpu for gaming. I have 240hz monitor and in rainbow six on native high texture and low and off i will get 230 to 150 fps. Drops when i turn fast enemy or me shots it annoying when it drops in half a second. Please help me and tell me if i should overclock my cpu or gpu.

Use something like MSIAfterburner to monitor and record FPS, cpu usage and gpu usage. You can then see if it is gpu or cpu causing the FPS drops. Just make sure to monitor all cpu cores and not total cpu usage.

You can then work out what would benefit from a performance boost via an overclock.
