I’ve noticed everyone that has the same setup as mine is doing way better in games. I’m running 32gb of ram ryzen 9 3900x with a rtx 3070 founders edtion.. I have tried everything in every way. I’ve overclocked… turned game mode off.. change nvidia settings.. bios check.. checked throttle.. reset my pc.. nothing is working. Can’t run gta 5 over 50-70 fps in medium settings in 1080p!!! which should be easy..

Please state your full system specs, include PSU, motherboard, storage, case, cooler, etc.

Every little bit of information may help.

You need to benchmark your PC to see which component is not running upto spec. Use benchmarks such as cinebench r20, 3dmark etc. I would recommend userbenchmark for beginners. It will show you how your PC is performing compared to other PC on the internet and point out underperforming component that's holding your whole system back.

UserBenchmarks: Game 132%, Desk 89%, Work 159%
CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 3900X - 82.4%
GPU: Nvidia RTX 3070 - 159.8%
SSD: WD Black SN750 NVMe PCIe M.2 1TB (2019) - 321.6%
USB: General USB Flash Disk 64GB - 25.1%
RAM: Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO DDR4 3200 C16 2x16GB - 78%
MBD: Asus ROG STRIX B550-F GAMING (WI-FI)

3200mhz cas 16 memory is slow for Ryzen...3600mhz cas 16 is ok. The slow ram is impacting the CPU since the Infinity Fabric in the CPU, which ties the cpu chips together, sets it's clock speed based on ram speed. 3600mhz ram will help reduce latency in the core as well as boost the IF speed.
Also moving to a 5000 series Ryzen will get more out of the 3070 at 1080p.

I will take the buying route…. Shouldn’t my pc still be able to run games over 100 FPS with my setup even tho the ram is lacking? Is that really what’s causing my pc to run slow in games ?

Forgot to mention. This benchmark gives you results in an online webpage can you post that link.

Your ram is performing much slower than it should which is then holding back your CPU. Have you enabled AMP profile and are you running in dual channel mode (are your ram sticks in right slots)?
Ryzen benefits from faster memory 3600mhz cl16 or even cl18 is pretty decent for stock IF clocks. 3200mhz cl16 should only be 3-5% slower. Your issue isn't ram speed it's something else with the ram.

With that being said, your GPU would really benefit from something like 5800x/5900x and 3800 mhz cl16 ram. You already have B550 motherboard and you can sell your current RAM and CPU for a decent amount.
